Fatal car accident in Town of Wilton
On November 24, 2017 at 6:44 PM Monroe County 911 Communications Center received a 911 call reference to a one-vehicle crash located on STH 71 near the intersection of Livingston Road in the town of Wilton.
A 1996 Toyota Corolla being driven by a 30 year old male was travelling west on STH 71 when he lost control. The vehicle slid across STH 71 striking a guard rail end, went into the south ditch rolling over several times vaulting over a creek landing on its roof.
The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Monroe County Medical Examiner. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Monroe County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office, Wilton Ambulance Service, Wilton Fire Department, Monroe County 911 Communication Center, Lars Towing, and the Monroe County Highway Department.
The crash remains under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office.
