Woman walks away from roll-over accident with no injuries - Vernon County Sheriff's Press Relase
Vernon County Sheriff John B. Spears reports a single-vehicle rollover crash that occurred on Willenburg Rd just south of the Mundsack Rd intersection in the town of Genoa.
On March 9th, 2018 at approximately 6:55 PM Nancy Smith, age 71 of rural Desoto, WI was traveling south on Willenburg Rd when she lost control of her vehicle causing it to go off the roadway. The Smith vehicle went through a non-barbed wire fence before striking a railroad tie used for a brace post. This caused the Smith vehicle to roll over onto the passenger side of the vehicle.
Smith was unable to un-due her seatbelt and was suspended in the air before the first arriving members of the Genoa Fire and First Responders arrived and were able to safely un-due her seatbelt and rescue her from the vehicle.
Smith was evaluated by Tri-State Ambulance at the scene due to the nature of the crash, she reported no injuries and was not transported. At the time of the crash, Smith was wearing her seatbelt and the front drivers’ airbag was deployed.
Assisting the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office at the scene was the Genoa Fire Department, Genoa First Responders, Tri-State Ambulance service and the property owner.
The incident remains under investigation by the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office.
