Gaylord E. Milller, 86 -
Gaylord E. Miller passed away peacefully in Mesa, AZ while visiting his sister and brother-in-law on March 17, 2018. He was born on September 14, 1931 to Clarence and Ida (Friske) Miller in the Town of Wonewoc, WI.
He was raised in the Elroy area on a dairy farm and joined the U.S. Army in 1954. He received an Honorable Discharge in 1956. He was a handyman most of his life, helping his parents, family, and friends. He retired from Royall School District in 2007, but continued to substitute for the district through 2012.
Gaylord was an avid fisherman and enjoyed building and repairing things in his workshop. He looked forward to collecting sap and making maple syrup each spring.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Ida Miller, and infant brother, Clarence William. He leaves survivors: Charlotte (Robert) Pickering of Alaska; his children, Denise Miller of Richland Center, WI., Rhonda Pfaff of Elroy, Kevin (Doris) Miller of Hillsboro, and Kelly Miller of Elroy. Surviving grandchildren include: Joshua (Amy) Pfaff, Jacob (Joleen) Miller, Nathanel Pfaff, Tayler Miller, Andrea Pfaff, Callissa (Jon) Moll, Zachery Miller, Benjamin (Caitlin) Miller, and Collin Miller. He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren: Jacob, Addison, Jenna Pfaff, Josiah Miller, Harley Sullivan, Bentley and Eli Miller.
He will also be remembered by his nephew, Mark (Tammy) Thelen and niece, Valerie (Dave) Raatz of Alaska, and friends.
Services will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Elroy at 11 am. Services will be followed by a Veteran's Honor's and meal at the American Legion Hall in Elroy.
