May 14, 2018

According to a May 11 press release posted on the New Lisbon Police Department's social media page, they have taken a report from a student of New Lisbon Schools about a physical incident that took place between the high school principal and the student on May 2, 2018.

The student is said to have reported the principal caused him physical pain for swearing in the hallway.

"Due to the close working relationship of the New Lisbon Police Department and the School, the matter has been referred to another law enforcement agency for further investigation. The matter will ultimately be referred to the Juneau County District Attorney’s Office for review of possible charges to be filed. At this time, the matter is still under investigation," said Police Chief Brent Granger.

The principal at New Lisbon High School is Gary Syftestad.
