Betty Marie (Pfaff) Voss, 92

Betty Marie (Pfaff) Voss, 92, died May 29, 2018 at the Crest View Nursing Home in New Lisbon, WI. Betty was born November 5, 1925 in Mauston to Charles and Martha (Boehm) Pfaff. She was raised in the township of Summit with her five brothers and 2 sisters. Her father, Charles, passed away in 1937. The family continued to farm and worked hard together. Betty was confirmed on March 17, 1940 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mauston and became a lifetime member. She graduated from the Mauston High School. Betty enjoyed working at Saemisch’s Bakery while going to school. On April 2, 1948, she married Wilbur Voss. They farmed with his parents Albert and Elsie Voss until later buying the farm. They were blessed with 4 children.

Betty was active in 4-H when she was younger and loved showing cattle. She loved cooking and making pies was her specialty. Her bread baking took first place many times at the fairs. She had about 1000 chickens which she sold eggs for a good income. She was a hard worker on the farm and spent most of her day outside feeding, milking, and caring for the animals. . She enjoyed helping her children when they showed cattle at the fairs. Her cupboards were full of canned goods from her garden.

She is survived by her children, Sharon Knuth, Kristie (Gary) Hansen, Alan (Lisa) Voss, Son-in-law Ron Daugs, Grandchildren: Lori (Michael) Jozwiak, Brian (Shelly) Daugs, Angie (Nick) Lindloff, Amy Vandermark, David (Sara) Knuth, Kelly (Tony) Green, Wayne (Sarah) Hansen, Brad (Cassy) Hansen, Paul (Kami) Hansen, Alana (friend-Cody Biermeier), Alissa (Fiance-Caleb Arens) , Zachary, Kyle, and Abigail Voss; Great Grandchildren; Mattthew and Molly Jozwiak, Blake and Emma Lindloff, Faith, Hope, and Cole Daugs, Benjamin and Joshua Knuth, Payton and Parker Green, Carter and Chase Hansen, Maddi (friend Jarrett Goodman), Genevieve, and Crimson Hansen, Hunter, Riley, and Dylan Hansen. She has many more relatives and friends that she cared deeply about. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur, her daughter Darlene Daugs, her parents, Charles and Martha Pfaff, brothers Frederick, Henry, Oscar, Howard, and Bernard Pfaff. sisters: Helen Demaske and Florence Adkinson , sister-in laws Meda, Bertha, Veryl, Dorothy, and Bea Pfaff, and brother-in-law Erwin Demaske, and son-in-law Rodney Knuth.

A memorial service washeld June 2nd at 11:00am, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mauston where friends and relatives may call from 9:00am until the time of service. Burial will be at the Mauston Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Mauston.
